The Pastor is responsible for leading the church body in functioning as a New Testament Church.

The Pastor is responsible for providing spiritual instruction and strategic leadership to the members, staff and ministries of the church. The Pastor serves as the administrative officer and Chair of Church and the Board of Trustees.

Kevork Kosbakian was born in Yerevan, Armenia in 1973. In 1979, his family moved to Anjar, Lebanon . He graduated from Azkayin Gulbengian Secondary School. Thereafter, Kevork was admitted to the Seminary of the Great House of Cilicia where he was ordained a celibate priest by His Eminence Archbishop Varoujan Hergelian on May 20th, 2001 and was renamed, Keghart. Fr. Keghart was elevated to the rank of Archimandrite “Doctor of the Church” on March 15th, 2009.

In the Monastery, Fr. Keghart has held numerous positions such as the Assistant to the Ecumenical Officer of the Great House of Cilicia, Respondent to the Birds Nest Orphanage, Vice-Chairman of the Christian Education Committee, Dean of the Youth Committee, Teacher at the Seminary, etc.

Very Rev. Fr. Keghart Kosbakian was first assigned to the pastoral role of St. Mary’s Armenian Apostolic Church in Thessaloniki, Greece.

In 2009, Fr. Keghart was reassigned to Canada to serve as the Parish Priest of St. Paul Armenian Apostolic Church in St. Catherines, Ontario, Canada. He also served as the Visiting Parish Priest of St. Jacob Armenian Apostolic Church in Niagara Falls, United States of America.

In 2012, Very Rev. Fr. Keghart Kosbakian was assigned to the pastoral role of St. Nishan Armenian Apostolic Church in Cambridge, Canada. During this time, Fr. Keghart also was the Dean of the Armenian Prelacy of Canada’s Christian Education Committee.

In 2016, Fr. Keghart was assigned to the pastoral role of St. Mary Armenian Apostolic Church in Toronto, Canada. On May 22nd, 2016, Fr. Keghart received the rank of Supreme Archimandrite by His Eminence Archbishop Khajag Hagopian.

During his time, has received formal education at the “Mersavor Arevelk” Theology School, as well as the Bossey Institute in Switzerland. Fr. Keghart received his Master’s Degree in Theology in 2015 at the McMaster University in Hamilton, Canada.

On January 6th, 2018, His Eminence Archbishop Papken Tcharian, Prelate of Canada appointed Right Rev. Fr. Keghart Kosbakian as the Vicar General of the Armenian Prelacy of Canada.
